ABOUT US

Alpha Tackle Sdn Bhd is a Malaysia-based manufacturer of premium rod blanks, high-performance fishing rods, and durable antennas. Backed by over 30 years of expertise, we use advanced materials like carbon fibre, glass fibre, and hybrids to create strong, lightweight, and responsive products. Our vertically integrated process, in-house R&D, and OEM services support clients worldwide in marine, industrial, and telecom sectors.

We also provide rod weight demonstrations, comparing carbon, glass, and hybrid builds to highlight the benefits of lighter rods — including improved sensitivity, balance, and reduced fatigue — for better real-world performance.

Carbon fiber rod blanks are made by layering sheets of carbon fiber fabric impregnated with resin (prepreg) onto a tapered mandrel. These layers are carefully wrapped at specific angles to control strength and flexibility. The wrapped mandrel is then cured in an oven or autoclave under heat and pressure, hardening the resin and bonding the fibers. Once cured, the blank is removed from the mandrel, sanded, and inspected for quality—resulting in a lightweight, strong, and sensitive rod blank ideal for fishing or sporting use.

Our Timeline Company History

Foundation & Early Growth

Founded in Malaysia, focused on fiberglass fishing rods for the local market. Built early partnerships and began in-house rod blank prototyping.
2000

Expansion & Innovation

• Introduced carbon fibre for lighter, stronger rods with improved sensitivity.
• Began OEM supply across Southeast Asia and explored hybrid composites.
• Expanded factory capabilities for custom builds.
• Started internal weight comparisons to evaluate performance across fibre materials.
2010

R&D and Diversification

• Established dedicated R&D to optimize resin systems and fibre layering.
• Launched carbon-glass hybrid rods and custom antenna blanks.
• Enhanced vertical integration and implemented tighter quality control.
2016

Global Reach & OEM Growth

• Expanded exports to Europe and North America with high-performance rod lines.
• Focused on OEM services, integrating nano-resin systems to reduce rod weight further.
• Adopted sustainable practices in manufacturing.
2021

Advanced Composites & Scale-Up

• Incorporated Kevlar® and aramid fibres into heavy-duty rods and antennas.
• Scaled production to serve both niche and large-volume clients.
• Continued refining rod design for optimal weight-to-strength ratio.
• Expanded use of weight demonstration capabilities in client consultations, OEM presentations, and product development.
